Background: TB-500 refers to a synthetic version of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ₄), a 43-amino-acid peptide found in high concentrations in wound fluid and many tissues. Tβ₄ plays a crucial role in tissue regeneration: it promotes cell migration, formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and modulates inflammation and scar formation. Notably, Tβ₄ has been shown to accelerate wound healing in skin, cornea, and heart tissue by stimulating collagen deposition and new cell growth. It also reduces fibrosis and oxidative damage, aiding in more complete tissue repair.
