Background: CJC-1295 is a 30–amino acid GHRH analog designed for extended activity. The DAC component (when present) allows CJC-1295 to bind to serum albumin, dramatically prolonging its half-life (approximately 1 week). By activating GHRH receptors in the pituitary, CJC-1295 stimulates pulsatile growth hormone (GH) release, leading to elevated levels of GH and downstream IGF-1. Notably, studies showed a single dose of CJC-1295 can increase GH secretion for 6+ days and IGF-1 levels for up to 9–11 days, all while preserving the natural pulsatility of GH release. These properties make CJC-1295 a valuable research tool in exploring therapies for GH deficiency, muscle wasting, metabolic function, and age-related hormonal decline.
