Background: AOD-9604 is a synthetic peptide fragment derived from the C-terminus of human growth hormone (HGH fragment 176–191). It was developed to harness HGH’s fat-burning (lipolytic) activity without the unwanted side effects of full HGH. Mechanistically, AOD-9604 stimulates the breakdown of fat (lipolysis) and inhibits new fat formation in adipose tissue, but crucially it does not raise IGF-1 levels or affect blood glucose, indicating it doesn’t act via the insulin-like growth factor pathway.
